Art is something that everyone seems drawn to. Whether the art is a piece of poetry, music, fashion, photography, architecture, film making, dance, drawing, jewelry making, or painting, it impacts us all as human beings. We can be made to feel inquisitive, angered, moved, saddened, excited, happy, nostalgic, or any combination of these, simply by being presented with a piece of art.
My name is Elizabeth, and I’m currently a college student, halfway to completing my Associate in Arts degree. I’ve always had a passion for art, specifically art like drawing, painting, and sculpture. My goal is to go to an art college and get a degree in order to find a career in concept art, comic books, film, or character or game design.
Personally, I feel that art is anything that enables one to express themselves and represent their ideas in a way that can be shared with others, but more specifically something that enables one to do so by using a specific skill they possess. This ability to express oneself or represent an idea or subject through art is so vital that almost every culture since the beginning of time has created some form of art.
Throughout the coming weeks, I’ll be covering the history or background of local art pieces, interesting places to go to experience and see art (such as museums and art galleries), and will feature local artists and businesses.
