Friday April 10th kicks off the 64th Annual Hernando County Fair and Youth Livestock Show. A fun and eclectic variety of entertainment is slated for the 9-day event.
On April 11th the Fair will feature a Truck and Tractor Pull at 6:00pm. On the 18th at 7:00pm the Demolition Derby returns- sure to pack the stands and deliver action and excitement as it did last year.
There are daily performances by NOJOE’S Clown Circus, Lance Gifford & Co, Hypnotist and Magician. Thirteen Bands are scheduled to play. The Fair will also feature Abarie, a 15 year old triple baton twirler, a Strong Man Competition, Tellin Tales Comedy Tour, a Butterfly Encounter and a Fine Arts Show.
Unfortunately the Youth Dairy Show has been cancelled, but expect to see rabbits, swine, beef cattle, steers, youth feeder calves, and poultry in competition. Exotic animals will be on display daily. Also,the baby animals and goats are sure to amuse.
Gates open at 1:00pm on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 18th. Gates open at 5:00pm on the 13th through the 17th. Admission for 3 years and under is free. Ages 4 to 12 is $4.00. Ages 13 and Up is $8.00. The cost for an armband for amusement rides varies ($15-$25 depending on the day.) Three day passes are available. Parking is free.
