Fishing Day

Free fishing days provide an excellent opportunity for parents who don’t yet have licenses to take youth fishing, or avid anglers to introduce a friend to fishing without having to purchase a license. On these days, the fishing license requirement is waived for all recreational anglers (residents and non-residents). All other rules (e.g., seasons, bag and size limits) apply. The saltwater waiver applies to any recreational harvest requiring a saltwater fishing license (e.g., crabbing, lobstering, scalloping, etc.) as well as fishing from shore or a boat. A snook or spiny lobster permit are not required on these days. Free.

37th Thanksgiving
Bluegrass Festival
Thursday, FRIDAY, AND SATURDAY, Nov. 24-26, 2016, 11AM – 10PM
The toe-tapping, foot stomping 37th Thanksgiving Bluegrass Festival is set to begin Thursday, Nov. 24 at the scenic Sertoma Youth Ranch and will feature an all-star Bluegrass lineup. The three-day event is packed full of music, craft exhibitors, music jams, camping, great food and festive drink as well as lots of activities for children.
Thanksgiving dinner is served on the grounds at 1pm on Thursday and the music is from 4:30 to 10 pm. Bring a covered dish for the old time family tradition of Thanksgiving Dinner at the ranch. Folks have been celebrating this special time together here for years. Turkey will be provided by the ranch. Music continues Friday and Saturday. Bring lawn chairs. Coolers are allowed.
The Sertoma Youth Ranch is an 80 acre wooded campground which was organized in 1974. It is a nonprofit organization that provides youth groups from all over the state of Florida the opportunity to enjoy the rustic outdoors, free of charge.

The day begins with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Enjoy a morning on one of the most picturesque courses in the county, and have fun with hole challenges during the round.
