On December 6th, a Hernando County man visited his girlfriend in the ICU of Bayfront Brooksville Hospital, bringing with him methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He then proceeded to give the items to the patient Desiree Beede.
Desiree, who was on oxygen, was observed by hospital staff putting a glass pipe up to her mouth and smoking it. Being that oxygen is highly flammable, this action put others in danger.
Desiree’s boyfriend Scott Burns, 52, admitted that the drugs and the paraphernalia belonged to him in a sworn written statement. He was arrested and placed on a $10,000 bond. His court date is set for Jan. 3, 2017.
Desiree Beede was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in October and March of this year.
