As you head out State Road 50 from Brooksville towards Ridge Manor, you pass Blanche’s gas station which is the home of the Roadside Cuban Cafe. The restaurant was formerly called Blanche’s Roadside BBQ.
They currently serve a limited menu of Cuban food and plans to add barbecue ribs soon. As they are starting out, they they are keeping the menu simple. In addition to food, they offer espresso shots and cafe con leche at very reasonable prices. They also offer some desserts like flan, bread pudding, rice pudding and pastries with guava.
We tried the pressed Cuban sandwiches and Ropa Vieja with yellow rice, black beans, and cuban toasts. The portions were large and prices were reasonable. They food was flavorful.
The staff is very friendly. You can enter their contest to win a free lunch. They give a lunch away once a week.
