On 12-28-16, the U.S. Marshals Service took Anthony Mariarossi, 32, into custody in California on a Hernando County warrant for Sexual Battery on a Child by a person in Custodial Authority.
The warrant for Mariarossi has been active since July 2015 and attempts to locate the suspect were previously unsuccessful.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a tip of a possible location of Mariarossi in Fresno, Calif. Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Tom Brooks, a member of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, sent the case to the U.S. Marshals’ Office where they adopted the case and conducted an investigation which ultimately led to the apprehension of Mariarossi.
He is currently in custody with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office in Fresno, Calif., where he is awaiting extradition back to Hernando County.
