Chamber to Host 43rd Annual Student Recognition Banquet
The 43rd Annual Student Recognition Banquet will be hosted by the Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce at the Palace Grand in Spring Hill on Thursday, April 27 from 5:30pm-9pm.
This year’s Keynote speaker will be Lynn Mueller- Nissen, celebrated author and a 1984 graduate of Springstead High School. Our Master of Ceremonies will be Steve Schurdell , Managing Partner of HITS 106.
Over the past 42 years, the honor student banquet has evolved from recognizing only the top 5% of high school seniors into today’s incredible Student Recognition Banquet. We (as a community) have rallied together to form an amazing tight knit group of mentors who look forward to taking an active interest in our future leaders. Today, the Chamber recognizes 56 students from the following schools:
•Central High School
•Hernando High School
•Nature Coast Technical High School
•Springstead High School
•Weeki Wachee High School
•West Hernando Christian
•Hernando Christian
•Spring Hill Christian Academy
This year we will be recognizing these top students for their achievements in the categories of:
•Academics
•Community Service
•Entrepreneurial
•Leadership
•Career & Technical
•New Category- The Arts
Scholarships in each of these categories will also be awarded. Congratulations to all students graduating from high school. From outstanding scholars, to musicans, to those creative thinkers, we are encouraging creative expression, to become leaders, and to follow their dreams.

Chamber Training Committee Meeting
set for March 28
We have worked hard to this purpose! We continuously seek to provide relevant training to support what Hernando County businesses need.
The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce’s Training Committee will meet on Tuesday, March 28, at 8:00am.
The meeting will be held at the Chamber office located at 15588 Aviation Loop Drive, Brooksville.

Unitarian Universalist Church seeks donations of books
The Unitarian Universalist Church in the Pines is seeking donations of books for People Helping People’s effort to aid homeless people to find—and keep—employment.
