May 18, 2017- Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies, K-9 Units, and Aviation Unit are currently on scene in the area of Cortez Boulevard and Portage Path (eastern Hernando County) assisting the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) in locating a fleeing suspect.
The male suspect, who was driving a stolen vehicle, fled from FHP Troopers when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The male suspect then fled on foot from the stolen vehicle in the area of Cortez Boulevard and Portage Patch. His description is as follows:
* W/M
* Short brown hair
* Approximately 36 years old
* Approximately 5’10”
* Unknown weight
* Blue shirt
* Khaki shorts.
