(Spring Hill, FL) At 1:40 p.m. today May 22, Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) received reports of a truck hitting a house at 11094 Tilburg St. A pickup truck had lost control and hit a car inside the garage. The pickup hit the car with such force that it pushed the car “into the residence.” The resident who was home at the time of the accident, fortunately did not suffer any injuries.
The driver of the pickup, a middle aged male is reported as stable but in guarded condition.
A toddler was also in the pickup and is in stable condition. Both occupants of the pickup truck were extricated HCFR personnel and transported to Oak Hill Hospital for follow up.
The residential structure sustained damage from the impact. The Building department has been called out to the scene to verify the stability of the structure.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Hernando County Sheriff’s office.
