Now that school is out for the summer, what is there for your kids to do, especially outdoors?
i9 Sports based in Tampa, Florida, is one of the largest youth sports league franchise in the United States. i9 Sports offers youth sports leagues and camps for young athletes to experience a fun, safe environment as well as to learn good sportsmanship and athletic skills. In Hernando County, i9 Sports offer a multi-sports camp and a variety of leagues for children ages 3-14.
Silverthorn Country Club in Brooksville recently hosted an i9 Sports multi-sports camp that started June 8 and ends June 12, and if you missed it you can still sign up for a fun-filled week of tennis, golf, swimming and more. There are two more camps that your kids can participate in, the weeks of June 22 and September 6.
“They have been a very gracious host, a big thanks to Silverthorn, the residence and the board members. It’s a phenomenal venue for this event,” said Danielle Daniels, director for the camp.
During the multi-sport camp at Silverthorn Country Club, the young athletes are grouped by age and participate in a rotation of sports; kickball, tennis and golf.
i9 Sports volunteers and counselors are there to help teach these young athletes to try, learn and have fun.
“Families come back because they are satisfied with the i9 experience, and that is important to us,” Daniels said.
i9 Sports counselors that help with the multi-sports camp are high school seniors that are putting volunteer hours toward their Bright Futures Scholarships. The i9 Sports Leagues also include volunteer family members, who may have their own children participating in a sport.
Starting on June 20, i9 summer leagues are being held at Chocachatti Elementary School (Brooksville), Jerome Brown Community Center (Brooksville) and Powell Middle School (Spring Hill).
