SHS students of Spanish obtained 3rd place in their division in the Florida State Spanish Conference earlier this year. This is the highest Springstead students have achieved in the last 8 years.
Out of 16 impromptus and 6 declamations, the Eagles received 17 Outstanding awards (the highest ranking,) 4 Superior and 1 Excellent. Their group play received an Outstanding. Isabel Somavilla, a senior, received a $100 cash scholarship and placed 2nd overall in instruments. Adriana Diaz, a junior, received 3rd place overall in singing. These two students were able to perform for the entire audience at the formal banquet as part of the closing ceremony.
Congratulations to the students on the attached list for this accomplishment. They worked so hard for this and their outstanding efforts have been rewarded!

We would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Rodriguez, our ESOL Paraprofessional, who served as a chaperone! We are also very fortunate to have an administration that promotes and supports academic competitions!”
