Main Street Eatery

In the heart of downtown Brooksville, sits the quaint but bustling Main Street Eatery.

When you first walk in, you are greeted by friendly faces while you choose where you would like to be seated. There are cozy tables for two or larger tables, perfect for getting together with family or coworkers for a tasty lunch.

The owners, Peggy and Bill Bell, were just newlyweds when they opened the eatery in 1989 and have been serving up delicious sandwiches, homemade salads, soups and, of course, desserts ever since.

Today, I ordered my usual, the Cuban with spicy mustard with a side of rice, while my husband devoured the Bill’s Special. The lunch portion size was perfect. I also had the pleasure of sampling the eatery’s famous Greek Salad — I was not disappointed. The Greek Salad with homemade dressing was amazing. For dessert, our waitress recommended the Peanut Butter Pie or the Cobbler.

We opted for the Peanut Butter Pie and took a piece home to enjoy later.

Each week there is a new special to choose from – like the Meatball Sub or the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich complete with your choice of chips or black beans and yellow rice.
If you are a creature of habit like me, trust me when I say to step outside your comfort zone and try something new. You will be so glad you did.

Stop in for lunch, sip an ice-cold Pepsi or sweet tea and be sure to say hello to Peggy.

Main Street Eatery is located at 101 N. Main Street, Brooksville, FL. You’ll find them right on the corner of Main Street and Jefferson. The eatery is open for business Monday-Friday 11 am to 4 pm, Saturday 11 am to 3 pm, and they are closed on Sunday. To reach Main Street Eatery by phone dial 352-799-2789.
