Live music, cars, and food, make the perfect combination to end a Tuesday. This monthly event which began in January 2012 is sponsored by Chick-Fil-A and Monster Transmission and Performance. On the first Tuesday of every month from 5-8pm as long as weather is permitting, the parking lot at Chick-Fil-A is transformed, and beautiful classic, muscle, and sports cars are displayed for your viewing pleasure as you listen to the live DJ playing the oldies.
Each month a charity is picked and the Cruise In is designed to accept donations either in the monetary form or requested collection items needed by the charity. For the summer months, the Cruise In is accepting donations or funds for school supplies for Operation Backpack which helps supply kids in need, with school supplies for the upcoming year. In addition to all the great vehicles on display and the music, the event offers races and raffles you can take part in. All proceeds from the Cruise In go directly to the Charity and Chick-Fil-A donates a percentage of their revenue for the evening as well.
As you stroll past the vehicles, enjoying the wonderful music, taking in the beauty of these immaculately kept pieces of art, you see and experience the pride of these owners. Some of the older restored vehicles provide details and photos of their restoration. The kids seemed to enjoy the car gazing as much as the adults. This is a true family event that can be experienced every month.
The Cruise In coincides with Chick-Fil-A’s weekly Family Night, which provides a family friendly environment with family centered activities. Some of the activities available outside the themed event included face painting, a balloon artist, kid friendly crafts, a price wheel, and board games. Chick-Fil-A hosts a variety of family fun events which can be found on their Facebook page, such as Breakfast Bingo and Spirit night for school fundraisers. The staff assists and encourages the kids with the activity, and does so with a smile.
