Members of the Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest T-Shirt Contest Committee gathered at the Weeki Wachee Area Club on Shoal Line Boulevard Oct. 12 to select the winners and runners-up of the annual contest.
For the 2018 Swamp Fest logo, entries were required to be in black and white, 8.5 x 11 inches in size and featuring a mermaid in a swamp scene with at least two swamp creatures. A total of 99 entries were submitted.
Prizes of $100, $75 and $50 were awarded to the top 3 designs overall. Gift certificates of $25, $15 and $10 went to the top 3 children’s designs submitted from local area schools.
First and Second Place winner in overall design was Deb Nicholson; Third Place winner was Michelle Rogerson.
The First Place winner in the children’s designs went to Aleisha Santana; Second Place was won by Angel Rodriguez and Third Place winner was Janae Melendez. All three
