KINKAID, STEPHANIE DANIELS
YOB: 1972
CHARGES: AGG BATTERY
Arrested on 12/01/2017 12:13 107 S SAXON AVE, BROOKSVILLE

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 12-01-2017 at 1048 hours I responded to the area of 24471 Lanark Road in reference to an aggravated domestic battery with a car. The caller stated that Aaron was just struck by his wife, Stephanie, while she was driving a gold Jeep and he had serious injuries.

On arrival Fire Medic Kyle Briscoe was already giving Aaron aid. Aaron was laying on the ground and he had blood on his head hands and both knees. I asked Aaron what had occurred and he stated he could not remember. Fire Medic Briscoe stated that Aaron told him that he was having an issue with his wife Stephanie and he reached in her car to get a paper and Stephanie grabbed his arm and dragged him down the road as she was driving. I was told that Aaron had a serious head injury and Bayflight was being called to fly him to a trauma center.

I then made contact with Kielan M. who called the Sheriff’s Office. Kielan stated that she was driving to work and she saw a man lying on the ground and a brown colored Jeep pulling away from him. Kielan stated that she looked in her mirror and saw that the man was trying to get up and he was bleeding from his head. Kielan stated that she turned around and asked him what had happened. Kielan stated that Aaron told her that there was a argument with his wife Stephanie and he reached in her car to get some papers and Stephanie grabbed his arm and started driving and dragged him down the road.

I was then told by Fire Rescue that Aaron was now able to talk and tell us what had happened. I made contact with Aaron in the back of the ambulance and he told me that there was a disagreement with his wife Stephanie over signing a title over for a car. Aaron stated that Stephanie grabbed a paper form him and he reached in the car to get it back and she grabbed his arm and started driving with him being dragged by the car. Aaron was unable to provide a sworn written statement do to the severity of injuries. He was then flown to Bayonet Point Trauma Center for treatment. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.

While on scene Stephanie called the non-emergency number of the Sheriff’s Office and stated she was at work at 107 S Saxon Ave and would like to discuss what had occurred. Deputy B responded and made contact with her.

I arrived at 107 S Saxon Avenue and made contact with Stephanie and read her Miranda warning from my agency card and she agreed to talk to me. Stephanie stated that she is married to Aaron but they no longer live together and he contacted her about selling a car and she was going to sign the title over. Stephanie stated she pulled up to the driveway and was going to sign the title over but Aaron did not want to sign a paper she made up. Stephanie stated she was running late for work and Aaron reached inside the car and she told him to get off the car. Stephanie stated that she told Aaron that she was late for work so she just started driving while Aaron was holding on to the car. Stephanie stated she was only in first gear and was not driving that fast as she dragged her husband down the road. Stephanie stated she was late for work and needed to leave. She then stated she was in fear of Aaron because of past incidents. I asked her if he threatened or was trying to strike her today and she stated he did not.

Stephanie stated that Aaron eventually fell of the side of her car and hit the ground. Stephanie stated she did not believe that Aaron was “that hurt” so she just left.

Stephanie made no attempt to render aid or to contact the Sheriff’s Office at this point. Stephanie stated she was driving to work and once she got to work she took the time to look up the non-emergency number to the Sheriff’s Office and reported what had occurred after the fact.

I did take photos of Stephanie 2004 gold Jeep Liberty with Florida tag IGM B78 that was sitting in the parking lot. Stephanie stated this was the car she was driving when she dragged Aaron.

Based on the statements of the witness, victims, and suspect due to that Stephanie knew that Aaron was holding on the side of her car and drove away anyway and did not render any type of aid there is probable cause to arrest her for aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon. I then placed Stephanie under arrest and transported her to the jail without incident where she was held on no bond status and issued a felony court date of 12-27-2017 in Courtroom D at 0900 hours.”
