With the end of summer wrapping up, Chick Fil-A recently held a Back to School Bash, where a portion of the parking lot transitioned into an area closed off from vehicle traffic. This allowed the perfect environment for kids to partake in a few games such as hula hoop, corn hole toss, and mini basketball. These types of events which usually have a fundraising/charity drive component to them are the norm for Chick-Fil-A.
At the Back to School Bash, parents were able to obtain all sorts of information; including programs available through the YMCA, Hernando County Public Library, i9 with the prize wheel and Girl Scouts just to name a few. This totally free event was not only informative but created family time. For the kids the biggest hit was, of course the giant water slide. Over and over kids climbed to the top and enthusiastically slid down, smiling and giggling all the way to the bottom, each wanting to do it again. Another highlight for the kids was Kona Ice. They were on site offering up samples of their yummy Italian ice to aide in the battle of the heat and help with your thirst. Inside, a balloon artist eagerly created a wide range of kid favorites including the popular bow and arrow.
Chick-Fil-A family oriented events like Back to School Bash serve the community through charity fundraisers as well as food and school supply drives. On Saturdays starting 9/12 from 10AM-2PM there will be carwashes to benefit West Hernando Middle (9/12), Central High Girls Volleyball (9/19) and Alive Youth Ministry (9/26).
