The Weeki Wachee Anglers, Inc., a family-oriented fishing and social club, in partnership with Hernando County Parks and Recreation, will host the 3rd Annual Kids’ Fishing Clinic. This is a free, one-day clinic sponsored by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to educate kids from ages 5 to 15 about the vulnerability of Florida’s marine ecosystems as well as to teach fundamental saltwater fishing skills with the goal of making these children responsible marine resource stewards. As a reminder, only children ages 5 to 15 are eligible for this clinic and they must be accompanied by an adult.
“Every child will be required to go through five hands-on learning stations (for example, knot tying and casting) to be eligible for a free rod and reel. They will then have an opportunity to try out their skills in a catch, photo and release event.
