Heritage Day 2016 will be held on the grounds of the 1885 Train Depot, at 70 Russell Street in Brooksville, February 27th, from 9am-4pm vendors, demonstrators and artisans will wind their way along the Good Neighbor Trail.
As you stroll down the trail, you may wish to stop at the gazebo where you can experience some of the featured entertainment. The children can enjoy the petting zoo and pony rides. Three beautiful historic homes will be showcased for the 2016 Historic Home Tour. Also, all three museums will be opened for tours. The Countryman One Room Schoolhouse, The 1885 Train Depot, and The May-Stringer House will have their doors open to welcome festival patrons.
Historic demonstrations, and period re-enactors will provide event goers with a true picture of “living history.” Although the festival is free, Historic Home Tour/Museum Tour tickets are available for a donation of $15.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free. Proceeds from ticket sales support the Hernando Historical Museum Association, as well as Historic Hernando Preservation Society.
