The Sixth Annual Storybook Forest event at Crews Lake Wilderness Park in Spring Hill saw over 3500 attendees on Saturday March 5, making it a success for the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties. “It’s absolutely amazing to see this many families come out with their children to an event like this. It shows that the parents are really invested in their children; it gives you a good feeling,” said Betsy Kier, Assistant Executive Director for Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties
The park was filled with fun activities for the kids as well as photo ops with characters from Dr. Seuss to Disney.
“It’s always a great event, the turnout has been great,” Sue Kiley, Branch Services Coordinator for Hernando County Public Library. “We try to be out at as many community events as we can, especially if they are youth orientated and literacy related.”
Trish Piotrowski and her mother Rosemary Van, the mother and daughter team who owns and operates Kids World of Hernando County, was also present during the event to showcase their learning center for children ages 6 weeks thru 4 years old. “We like to come here every year,” Trish Piotrowski said.
“It grows every year; it’s a good opportunity for the early learning providers of Pasco/Hernando Counties to give out information on their schools to the local families,” Kier said.
