ELITE NIGHTS for Flag Football
With school sports at a close, Hernando County still has plenty of athletic programs for your child or children to participate in. One program is i9 Sports, which offers athletic programs for kids ages 3 to 15 and for this particular event they extended the age to 16.
“This group (of age) 13 to 16 kids… have a little bit more talent, so it we thought it would be fun bring it out here on Fridays,” said Matt Daniels, program director for i9 Sports. “That’s what it’s all about… allow these guys to have a little bit more and… adjust the rules to make the game more exciting.”
On April 15, i9 kicked off their Elite Nights 2016 Spring Flag Football at Ernie Wever in Brooksville. The league plays for five nights on Fridays, has a playoff on Thursday Night May 19th and the Championship game on May 20th.
“This is to get these kids into a positive environment, have a lot of fun with the sport of football and offer them something fun to do on Friday Nights,” Daniels said.
