Due to Hernando County School Board’s budget constraints, students at Springstead High School are taking action to find funding for the renovation of their athletic facilities to benefit future students and the community. Students in Tim Plumadore’s Sports Marketing Class have created a Go Fund Me page and have spoken with the NFL about grant money for the renovation of their gymnasium. The gym has not seen much updating since it was built in 1980. They also would like to see a new football field built. They estimate the total cost for these projects to be $700K. So far they have received $300 from alumni and community members on their Go Fund Me page. The plan is expected to take several years to complete.
