Check it out | Airport Farmers & Flea Market
The Airport Farmers & Flea Market located across from the Brooksville Airport has been in operation on and off since the 1970’s. In 2012, Nick and Stephanie DelCorso, Vince DelCorso and Andy Orfitelli acquired the property.
Dorri Spoto and her husband Joe have been managing the market for the past year and a half, but before moving to Hernando County from Citrus, the Spoto’s life was a routine of non-stop work.

“My husband and I decided to do this, so we can work together and actually see each other. He was a restaurant manager and I was in Real Estate, we were like two ships passing in the night,” Dorri said.
Working in this environment for them is a new world, a different world. The relationship, both Joe and Dorri have with the vendors is visually full of life and that of lasting friendship.
“It’s a whole different world; its community, its family,” Dorri said. “I learned a lot since [ I’ve] been here, about people. I can write a book about this chapter of my life.”
Over 19 acres of retail to explore with 400 vendors you are bound to find more than you need, with great prices and friendly service.
“We are really starting to [get] busy. We are pretty full, from new items to vintage collectible,” Dorri said.
Kathy Martin is just one of the vendors who runs Scotty’s Antiques. She has been “flea marketing” for over ten years. She moved to Hernando County 5 years ago from Michigan. Martin set up her vendor area in 2015.
“It’s the camaraderie around the vendors I really enjoy,” Martin said.
Not only is this a place for you to sell your “garageyard sale” goods, but this is a great opportunity to hold fundraisers, from the dunk tank to a stage where you can perform your event.

“We love fundraisers, and we are very giving,” Dorri said. “We are very community oriented, we want to be involved in the community, that is something Joe and I hit hard on.”
Coming up at the Market is a great line of activities, first is the Finding Dorri – Scavenger Hunt on June 18 as well as Drum Circle beginning at 7pm.
The market is open on the weekends, Saturday and Sunday, from 8am to 3pm. Take a drive out and you might find your treasure! For more information about rental booths and fundraising opportunities, just give Joe or Dorri a call.
