Marco Rubio:

Marco Rubio is currently a US Senator representing Florida. He is of Cuban American origin and is from Miami. He earned an Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from the University of Miami.

Rubio started out as a City Commissioner for West Miami. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2000, and then became Speaker in November 2006. Marco was elected to the United States Senate in 2010.

In April 2015, Rubio announced that he would not seek reelection to the Senate because he was running for the office of President of the United States. Following his loss in the Republican primary in Florida to Donald Trump, Marco suspended his campaign for President on March 15, 2016. On June 22, 2016, Rubio announced that he would seek reelection to the US Senate.

Carlos Beruff:

Carlos Beruff was born in Miami to Cuban refugees. Carlos was raised in South Florida and now lives in Manatee County, Florida.

At age 22, Beruff started his first business. He built his business, guided it through recessions, and rebuilt it. Medallion Home is located in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. During his career, Beruff’s corporations built over 2,000 homes and developed, owned and managed dozens of other properties, employing thousands of people in the process.

Beruff has also served on the Board of Trustees of the State College of Florida (SCF), Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority Board, and Southwest Florida Water Management District. On February 24, 2016 Carlos announced his candidacy for U.S. Senate.
