A New Mother’s Miraculous Recovery

Ruby Graupera-Cassimiro suffered a rare amniotic fluid embolism after undergoing a routine c-section. This is when the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby contaminates the mother’s bloodstream creating a vacuum effect and preventing circulation.
After the c-section it is reported that she was conversing and alert and then her heart started beating erratically. She became unconscious. Doctors and nurses worked on her for 45 minutes after her heart had completely stopped. They gave her CPR, intubated, and applied shocks. After two hours the doctor told the family that her chances of survival were slim. They no longer applied lifesaving measures and were prepared to record Ms. Cassimiro’s time of death.
All the while her family was praying. Her mother asked God to take her instead of her daughter. While the family was praying, a nurse came in and told them to continue their prayers because her heart just started beating again. She made a complete recovery, no brain damage, not even bruises from chest compressions or burns from the shocks. When she regained consciousness, she remembered what she thought was a dream: her deceased father telling her that it was not her time yet. She realizes now that it was no dream.
