Recently we saw the Trackless Train at the Autism festival at Springstead High School. It is available for rent for private parties at $150 for the first hour and $100 for each additional hour. The train also comes with a conductor.

The owners of the trackless train, Breanna and Michael Summerfeld, first saw a trackless train at a birthday party. The Summerfelds saw this as a business opportunity and after a couple of years of research decided to run their very own trackless train.

The train they chose had lights, larger seats, music, seat belts and doors. The trackless train has a lawn mower engine and each train car is built on a DOT approved trailer, which can hold up to 800 lbs.

They do a number of free charity events a year including National Night Out with the Hernando Sheriff.

They also do events at county parks where a portion of the proceeds go to parks and recreation. Mostly they provide entertainment for children’s birthday parties.

They have been running their trackless train rental business for about a year. You can find them on the web at http://www.choochootoyou.com/.
