Wetherington stated this was his last BOCC meeting as he was retiring after working for the county after five years as the Chief Procurement Officer. He thanked the commissioners and the employees he has worked with. “The one thing I pride myself on, I always will and will not waiver or change, is my integrity. When it comes to doing the right thing, I do the right thing, and I stay in compliance with Florida Statutes and public law. It makes life a heck of a lot easier when you do that.”
Wetherington went on to thank his wife, who could not be present, for her support. He answered the question of what he plans to do in retirement by stating he has already done something. He wrote a book titled, Who Are You?, which he described as a spiritual/motivational book. It was published July 1.
Commissioner Diane Rowden thanked Wetherington for his open door policy and his willingness to answer her multiple questions. She also thanked him for his military service.
