Matt Griffin, proprietor of Bourbon Blues House, and West Florida native is bringing great food and entertainment to Hernando County.
“I just decided to try something different here in Spring Hill,” said Griffin. He opened the Bourbon Blues House back in late September 2015. Griffin, is a Blues fan as well a Bourbon enthusiast who wanted to bring Hernando County a higher quality of food. “There are a lot of chains around the area,” stated Griffin.
With a hometown atmosphere, a holiday dinner buffet, comfortable lighting and great hospitality, many friends gathered together to bring in a new year.
In 2016, Griffin plans to bring in comedy acts and well-known Blues bands. To end 2015, Bourbon Blues House booked a local talent who is gaining national attention: Shawn Scheller & The Contenders.
Scheller’s music career took off in 2014 and as life slowed down for Scheller & The Contenders, it was time to take a break and get back to the place he called home.
Along with his closest friend Scott Lockhart, the two are truly inspired to bring in the New Year with more music and entertainment for the community. “If there is one thing I really want to do, it would be to keep venues for live music going in Hernando County,” Scheller said.
With business owners like Matt Griffin and inspiration from artists like Shawn Scheller, Hernando County is generating new ideas as well as polishing and dusting off some old ones, and for the year 2016 this can be very promising.
