Budget Manager Pamela Lee addressed the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on July 11, 2017 regarding a budget resolution to move $3,080,000 from the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Fund to the Quality of Life Fund for Capital Projects. During the regular meeting on June 13, the BOCC directed the Budget Office to transfer $3,000,000 in addition to $80,000 already committed for the Bayport Pier repairs.
This fund will be used by conservation projects and recreational projects. In addition to the Bayport Pier project, the ‘Quality of Life’ fund is anticipated to pay for the Shallow Water Reef project, and the Hunters Lake channel improvements. The Sensitive Lands Fund budget will include Hunter’s Lake Tussock removal, Peck Sink improvements and continued maintenance of the currently owned properties designated as sensitive lands.
The budget resolution carried unanimously.
