Hernando County residents, businesses, and organizations have worked hard to make Christmas special for needy families. Today, St. Vincent De Paul, a nonprofit charity organization gave away gifts to needy families. Jericho Road Ministries will be having their 17th annual free Christmas Eve luncheon at the First United Methodist Church in Brooksville (11:00 am- 2:00pm Dec.24th). Students and teachers at Wider Horizons School gave Christmas gifts to needy families through St. Vincent De Paul. Each class adopted a family and students lined up individually to give their gifts. The families are always so appreciative.
Many local businesses like Monster Transmission and Beef O’Bradys are participating in Toys for Tots or other toy drives. The Salvation Army of Hernando is running their toy drive called the Angel Tree program. DayStar and J.A.M., (Jesus And Me) ministry gave 150 Brooksville children toys for Christmas. Daystar also donated toys for children of the Dawn Center, Jericho Ministries, and Head Start.
