On November 27, 2016, after 11PM the 7-11 at 6016 Spring Hill Drive was robbed by a white man with tattoos on his neck. The clerk was able to give a detailed description and he was also caught on video surveillance cameras. The description of the man and photo from the video surveillance was put on social media and a tipster called to tell the Sheriff’s Office that the man resembled Jonathan Bizuk, who resides at 1252 Garrett Avenue in Spring Hill.
Bizuk was also the “person of interest” in a robbery at the post office located at 7341 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill on 12/6/16.
Major Case Detectives, Selective Enforcement Units and 2 K-9 Units arrived at Bizuk’s residence at 7:15PM on 12/7/16. Bizuk attempted to flee when detectives approached. The K-9’s were released and brought down the suspect.
Post- Miranda, Bizuk admitted to both robberies and stated that he needed money to support his drug habit. With a search warrant of 1252 Garrett Ave. officers found multiple items related to the robberies as well as 2 pounds of marijuana, which was determined to be the property of Joshua Almeida.
Johnathan Michael Bizuk W/M born 1987 remains in the Hernando County Detention Center, charged as follows:
* Burglary Conveyance
* Burglary Structure
* Robbery
o Bond – $20,000.
Joshua George Almeida W/M born 1993, also a resident in the home, was charged as follows:
* Possession of Marijuana (over 20 grams)
* Possession of Paraphernalia
o $3,000.
