On 12-03-16, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit responded to a residence on Deercroft Court in Spring Hill in reference to a methamphetamine lab. Initially, patrol deputies responded to the residence, which is located in the Wellington subdivision after receiving a tip that a meth lab may be located within the residence. Deputies made contact with the homeowner and were allowed entry to check for a possible lab. It is worth noting that there were two young children in the home.
Upon inspecting the garage of the residence, deputies observed several items that were indicative to the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Deputies immediately had the occupants of the residence evacuate and contacted Hernando County Fire/Rescue and the Vice and Narcotics Unit.
With the assistance of firefighters from Hernando County Fire/Rescue, detectives were able to safely remove the volatile chemicals from the residence. As a result of the investigation, detectives learned that Brian Vincent W/M 03-21-1982 who is a relative of the resident recently began staying at the home. Detectives determined that Vincent was the individual responsible for manufacturing the methamphetamine. During the investigation he was not at the residence.
In total, detectives were able to collect 625.2 grams of liquid methamphetamine and crystal methamphetamine from the garage area along with many different forms of paraphernalia utilized for the manufacturing. The volatile chemicals that were removed from the scene will be properly disposed of by detectives.
The Department of Children of Families (DCF) was contacted regarding the children that were present in the home.
Currently, Brian Vincent has active felony warrants for the following charges:
* Manufacturing of Methamphetamine w/Children Being Present
* Trafficking in Methamphetamine
* Possession of a Listed Chemical
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
