The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade will take place on January 19th, 2015 to celebrate his birth (January 15, 1929), honor his accomplishments and the principles he stood for. The Parade begins at 10:00 am at the Hernando High School Bus Compound on Oakwoood heading west, it will then take Howell Ave South, to Ft. Dade Avenue East, and finally Bell Avenue back to Hernando High.
The parade was organized by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade Standing Committee with the support of Walmart Distribution Center. The City of Brooksville waived 50% or $452.48 of their fees, following the standard fee waiver policy. Brooksville City Council Members signed a proclamation that January 19, 2015 will be celebrated in honor and in tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
