I am a 45 year old husband and father. My wife Victoria and I have 4 wonderful daughters. I am a small business owner in Marion County and have been dedicated to advocating for those with developmental disabilities for nearly 30 years. I decided to run for Congress because I believe we need a Representative dedicated to finding common ground in Congress to solve our problems, and to stop the radical obstruction.
I know how to cut through bureaucratic red tape to help the most vulnerable in our community. If elected, I would apply these skills to serve those I represent with integrity so that we can all succeed.
I embrace bi-partisan efforts to end the gridlock created by career politicians. My priorities are to:
• Keep the promises made to our Veterans and Senior Citizens. End efforts to privatize Social Security.
• I strongly support a Medicare/Medicaid system that it is fair and equitable to both patients and doctors. Big insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and mega-hospital corporations are part of the problem.
• Protect our environment and manage our resources wisely. I’m opposed to fracking.
• Invest in infrastructure to generate stable employment and economic growth in our district and throughout America. Only by working together will we rebuild our nation and bring back the middle class. I’ll work hard to create a sustainable economy.
• Hold government accountable to people, not special interests. Respect women’s rights. Reform immigration. Improve public education. I am a strong believer in fiscal responsibility and won’t tolerate the abuse and waste of taxpayer dollars.
I represent a new generation of ethical leadership that will leave the politics and special interests behind in an honest effort to represent my constituents. Unlike my opponent, I do not accept funding from special interests or PACS. My campaign is a grassroots effort fueled by people who just want to be truly represented.
I am your candidate, an outsider who can fix the problems created by the political insider I am running against. I represent what the Founding Fathers envisioned when they started this country—a citizen representative, not a career politician.
Daniel Webster
Congressman Daniel Webster is a successful small business owner, father of six, grandfather of thirteen, and active member of his church and community.
In the Florida legislature, Webster fought to change the way Tallahassee did business. As a result, he became the first Republican Speaker of the House in 122 years. He ended late night meetings and backroom negotiations. He empowered lawmakers to represent their districts, and he passed a conservative agenda despite a Democrat governor.
Every year, when session ended, Webster left Tallahassee and returned home to Central Florida to continue to run his family business. After serving in the state legislature, Webster turned down job offers to become a lobbyist and instead returned home to his small business – because he believes that service should be a calling, not a career.
In 2010, Webster was called on to run for Congress against Alan Grayson. He defeated Grayson and went on to represent Florida in Washington.
Webster ran for Congress because he believes that the same reforms he implemented in Tallahassee need to happen in Washington. Principled leadership and conservative values are the solution to Washington’s dysfunction.
Last year Webster stood up to John Boehner and the Washington Establishment and ran for Speaker of the US House of Representatives. Webster was supported by the House Freedom Caucus, including conservatives like Louie Gohmert, Steve King and Ted Yoho.
The work of changing the culture in Washington is not done, and Webster is seeking to return to Washington to continue the work he started.
