The secret to finding fulfillment in life is different for everyone. The main hope for people is to live a long, happy life where all goals are achieved and there are no regrets.
People by nature are busy creatures. As much as we complain that we want to lie in bed all day and do nothing, there are very few people who could actually do that and find happiness. Fulfillment cannot be found by being lazy and doing nothing. However, some people, especially younger people, often find it difficult to think of something fulfilling to do.
However unappealing it may be, teenagers need to start developing responsibility and maturity at a relatively early age. Before college, adolescents need to choose a career to pursue, learn to ask questions to get necessary information, learn how to pay taxes, do work, and more. This leaves much to do before the teenager leaves the house to go off to college.
When one really thinks about it, life is an unending pile of chores and responsibilities. From the moment you start preschool, you need to work to get through life. After fourteen years of school, you then have to either go to college before getting a job, or just get a job. After a job has been obtained, you must work until either enough money is saved for retirement or you die.
Between all that work, it seems like there would be little to no time to find true fulfillment in life. However, finding fulfillment does not have to be a long, difficult task. Sometimes it can be found after a family has been raised successfully. Other times, people need to dedicate themselves fully to a certain cause or belief.
If you wish to find fulfillment in life, you need to search yourself to find out what your main goals are that you wish to accomplish before death. Sometimes it takes a long time to figure out what you truly wish to accomplish in life. For others, the answer can be obvious. Work your hardest to achieve that main goal. Dedicate yourself, but make sure not to pass up other opportunities on the way to achieving that goal.
Each person has his own ideas on what it means to have lived a full life. It is not something that others can do for you. This is a deeply personal experience that will give your life meaning, even if only you understand it.
