On Jan. 11, 2017 11PM, while patrolling the South Brooksville area, two Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to pull over a black Toyota for a routine traffic stop. The driver fled in the vehicle and the front-seat passenger fled on foot. Deputies were able to apprehend two individuals involved, but one is still on the run.
During the incident, the suspects fired a gun and hit the Sheriff’s Deputies’ patrol vehicle. The Deputies were not injured.
The Sheriff’s Office will provide additional information as it becomes available.
