Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10/13/2017 at approximately 2245 hours, I responded to the “Five Star Auto Sales” business located at 10377 County Line Road, in Hernando County, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. This business is located on the north side of County Line Road, just south of the Publix parking lot, and was not open at the time of the this incident. I observed a white Ford F150 bearing FL tag 576QRZ parked on the east side of the building.
Upon arrival, I conducted a security check of the perimeter and located a chain link fence with barbed wire on top, surrounding the north side of the property. The fence was still intact and a large “No Trespassing” sign was attached to the fence in front of the entry gate. The fence appears to be utilized in order to store unused rubber tires. While standing next to my marked agency patrol vehicle, which is a white Ford Crown Victoria with reflective Sheriff insignia, light bar and spotlight, I observed two white males, later identified as the defendants, James Maye and Arthur Hassett. I observed both defendants to be in possession of a flashlight, and they appeared to be examining tires.
While making contact with the defendant, Arthur Hasset, he spontaneously stated, “I was only looking for a tire”. When questioned if either defendant owned the business both defendants admitted that they did not own the businesses and was granted permission on the property by a person by the name of “John” (unknown last name). Both defendants acknowledged that they knew the business was no longer open and were only “looking for a tire”. Both defendants were read Miranda Warning via my agency issued Miranda Warning card, at which time, they stated they understood their rights. Post-Miranda, Arthur Hasset advised that he was only looking for a tire and if he located one, he would contact his friend “John” and inform him that he wanted to purchase one. Post-Miranda, James Maye advised he was with Arthur Hassett, and was given permission by “John” to check out some tires.
I conducted an Augmented Criminal Information Support System (ACISS) search for the property owner of “Five Star Auto Sales” and ascertained the name of Bruce Peach. I contacted Bruce and informed him of my findings. After speaking with Bruce, he advised the business is closed; however, he still owns the property and he did not give anyone permission to be on the premise to remove tires. Additionally, Bruce also advised he does not know anyone by the name of “John” who would give permission to enter the property, and would like to prosecute.
Both defendants were transported to the Hernando County Detention Center without incident. and charged with trespassing. Arthur Hassett and James Maye were given a $1000, and were provided a court date of 11/08/2017 at 0900 hours in courtroom “B” of the Hernando County Courthouse.”
Traffic stop Leads to Crack Cocaine and Marijuana

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10/14/2017 at approximately 0230 hours, I drove behind a blue Chevy pickup truck in the most right lane traveling eastbound on Cortez Boulevard unable to maintain a single lane of travel. The vehicle continued to cross the white fog line several times. I conducted a traffic stop on said vehicle, which bore New York tag: HRT-2179, due to my reasonable suspicion that the driver was possibly sick, tired, impaired, or distracted near the intersection of Cortez Blvd / Mobley Road.
Contact was made with the driver, Nicholas G, whose identity was confirmed via his New York driver’s license. Nicholas was informed the reason of the stop and he explained that he was sorry, stating that he has been crying all day.
In the above listed vehicle there was a female passenger Carrie Diana Eade (defendant) who identified herself via her Florida driver’s license.
Nicholas then granted verbal consent of his person and his vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle I located a black purse type bag on the passenger floorboard and a black backpack with white stripes being in the defendant’s proximity, which she admitted were hers.
The defendant gave verbal consent her person and her bags located in said vehicle.
The defendant was found to be in possession of the following: Marijuana 1.7 grams in a clear plastic baggie, Crack Cocaine 0.2 grams located in a white contact case that was located in her black purse type bag, and a clear smoke pipe in her black backpack with white stripes to be in possession of paraphernalia. All substances field-tested positive.
The defendant was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center and given a court date of 11/14/2017 at 0900 hours in courtroom D. The defendant is being held on a $4000.00 bond.”

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10/14/2017, at approximately 0825 hours, while conducting a traffic stop at the intersection of Cortez Blvd and Lykes Dublin Road for a traffic violation, as I was finishing up the stop and walking back to my agency vehicle, a blue F150, driven by a white male, failed to move over and continued driving on the outside lane near my vehicle. I was able to catch up to said vehicle, where I made contact with the driver, who identified himself as Zackary Alan Chucran by his Florida issued drivers license.
I informed Zackary for the reason of the stop. Zackary stated, “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t thinking.” While speaking to Zackary, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. I asked Zackary if there were any illegal items within the vehicle, Zackary stated, “Yes.” Zackary then handed me a blue smoking pipe from the drivers side door panel that had a burnt residue on it.
I then asked Zackary if there was anything else in the vehicle. Zackary then handed me a clear plastic baggie that contained a green leafy substance from the back drivers side floor board.
Using NARCO Test #7609, the residue within the smoking pipe, along with the green leafy substance tested positive for THC. Using a scale, the green leafy substance had a combined weight of 24.6 grams.
I once again made contact with Zackary, who was placed under arrest and transported to the Hernando County Jail, without incident. Zackary is being held on a $3,000.00 total bond.
While at the jail, using scale model Adventure Pro AV612N, serial #8033491150, the green leafy substance was re-weighed and confirmed the total weight of 24.6 grams.
Zackary was informed of his upcoming court date set for 11/14/2017 in Courtroom D, at 0900AM.”

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10/14/2017 I responded to Bayfront Health Spring Hill Hospital located 10461 Quality Drive reference a battery.
Contact was made with hospital security guard Franklin who advised the defendant was using the Emergency room phone during which time he was agitated, yelling and using profanity. In the best interest of other patients, the defendant was asked several times to calm down, stop yelling and refrain from profanity. Security guard Franklin then stood next to the defendant and requested he end the phone call as he could not abide by staff requests to calm down. At that time, the defendant elbowed Franklin Ortiz in the chest and reached, grabbing Franklin by the right bicep area.
Security Guard Franklin sustained several scratches to his upper right arm. Two scratches which began to bleed, approximately 1 inch long were sustained to the outside of the right bicep. Two scratches, reddish in color, approximately 2 inches long were sustained to the upper, inner side of the right arm. No injury was visible to the chest.
The battery was witnessed by Registered Nurse Michael who corroborated the aforementioned battery.
The defendant was placed into custody and transported to the Hernando County Jail. While in transport, the defendant continued the yelling and belligerent behavior.
The defendant was held on a $5,000.00 bond.”

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10/14/2017, the defendant and victim, who are mother and daughter, became involved in a verbal argument with each other when the victim tried to retrieve her belongings from the residence. While the victim was trying to leave the residence, the defendant followed the victim to the front door and threw a Mason jar at the victim. This Mason jar was filled with coins and would have had considerable weight, and struck the victim in the head. Per a witness, the defendant continued to strike the victim once they were on the ground with their hands and feet.
The defendant would not allow law enforcement onto the property until a sergeant arrived. While waiting for a sergeant, the defendant was observed cleaning up the scene. Once law enforcement was able to access the property, the defendant was unable to provide a consistent statement, and continuously changed her statements multiple times.
The victim was transported to Bayfront Hospital Brooksville due to having a severe head injury and laceration to her forehead. Upon making contact with the emergency room, they advised the victim had an irregular cut to her forehead which would be consistent with blunt force. Furthermore, the emergency room advised, the victim received nine to ten stitches, had a hematoma, and had a portion of her skull to be exposed.
The defendant was arrested at 1814 hours for aggravated battery and transported to the Hernando County Jail. The defendant received a court date of 11-14-2017, court room D at 0900 hours. No bond was issued due to this being domestic related.”

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10/15/2017 while patrolling the area of the 7-Eleven located at 4710 Commercial Way, I observed a subject known to me as the defendant, Steven Yurkovic. The defendant was observed to be standing on the sidewalk in front of the business. When the defendant observed my marked patrol vehicle he began to walk away from the business towards the north. A computer check revealed the defendant was issued a trespass warning from this location on 05/20/2017 from the business owner, Ashwin P.
Contact was made with the defendant, who positively confirmed his identity by his name, date of birth, and social security number. The defendant advised he was inside the store earlier the same day and also and purchased beer. He believed since he was allowed to walk in the first time he wasn’t doing anything wrong.
I reiterated to him he was issued a trespass warning on the above date and he was no longer allowed at this business per the business owner. The defendant was then taken into custody and transported to the Hernando County Jail without incident.
A communications check revealed the defendant was negative for any wants and warrants.
The defendant was provided a $500 bond. The defendant was also provided a court date of 11/08/2017 at the Hernando County Courthouse in Courtroom B at 0900 hours.”

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10-15-17 between 0545-0615 hrs, the defendant stole a Lowe’s cart that contained 8 flowers and a hose and reel from the outside garden area of the Lowe’s located at 4780 Commercial Way. The defendant was observed on video from Goodwill, next to Lowe’s, pushing the cart full of flowers behind the Goodwill store at 0603 hrs in the direction of Berkeley Manor Boulevard. The cart and flowers were located abandoned in the area of Berkeley Manor Boulevard and the hose and reel were located in the bushes separating Lowe’s and Goodwill. The defendant was identified in the video by Deputy L. as Steven Yurkovic, due to him just arresting Steven for Trespass at the 7-Eleven in the same area. Contact was made with the defendant at the Hernando County Detention Center. Post Miranda, the defendant admitted to taking the flowers for his transient camp. The defendant advised he abandoned the flowers because it was too dark to take them to the camp. He was going to return for them later.
The defendant advised that he left the hose and reel behind to get them later. Per Lowe’s Loss Prevention Officer Cassandra P., the items are valued at $311.78.
Probable cause exists for the defendant for Retail Grand Theft. A probable cause affidavit was left with booking staff. The defendant is to be held on a bond of $2,000.00. The defendant was given a felony court date of 11-14-17 at 0900 hrs.
The defendant was also on video committing a separate vehicle burglary earlier in the night at Lowe’s (2017-31130), as well as stealing a garbage can from 7-Eleven (2017-31136) and arrested for the same.”

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10-15-17 at 0410 hrs, the defendant was observed on video breaking into a Lowe’s truck (Florida tag EIIR48) that was parked behind the Lowe’s store located at 4780 Commercial Way. The defendant was observed going into a compartment on the truck and removing items and placing them into a large rolling garbage can that he brought to the store with him. The garbage can with the stolen items was located in the wood line to the north of Lowe’s with the stolen items still inside. The stolen items included a large stainless steel chain, cammo ratchet straps, yellow ratchet straps, bungee cord, electrical equipment cord, and 2 tire stops which Lowe’s Loss Prevention Officer Cassandra P. advised were valued at $168.00. The defendant was identified in the video by Deputy L. as Steven Yurkovic due to him just arresting Steven for Trespass at 7-Eleven in the same area. Contact was made with the defendant at the Hernando County Detention Center. Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10162017 the defendant, Valerie Stevens, was involved in a verbal altercation with her live-in boyfriend, the victim, Dale Thomas. The incident occurred inside of Valerie’s 34 foot Pace Arrow motor home that is located at 11185 Commercial Way, Lot #1. The defendant was upset that Dale had come home from the bar and was drinking. The defendant then grabbed a black folding knife and came at Dale, threatening to stab him and his dog. Dale was able to block the defendant’s actions, causing a cut to the knuckle on his left hand, which did not require medical attention. This incident was not witnessed by anyone and the defendant denied the allegations.
The defendant was then placed under arrest and transported to the Hernando County Detention Center and charged with CT1: Domestic Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and is being held on a no bond status.”

Arrest Summary Excerpt: “On 10162017, the defendant Dale Thomas, was in a verbal altercation with his live-in girlfriend, Valerie Stevens, inside of the 34 foot Pace Arrow motor home that they share together. During the course of the argument, the victim, Valerie, stated the defendant held a knife to her throat for approximately 1.5 hours then duct taped her legs and arms and would not allow her to leave. The victim did state that after approximately three hours the defendant did untie her and they both went to bed. It wasn’t until approximately 0800 hours this morning, which is when the victim walked out of the motor home, and called for law enforcement.
It should be noted, the victim also stated she was hit on the forehead by an unknown object but did not require any type of medical attention. The victim also did not have any marks or redness on her neck where she stated she was “poked” by the sharp end of the knife.
I did observe three pieces of duct tape lying on the floor next to the bed in the motor home. The defendant stated that was from a sex bondage act that the victim had requested but since the defendant is impotent, he could not perform. Both the knife and the duct tape were taken into evidence.
The defendant was then taken into custody and charged with CT1: Domestic Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and CT2: False Imprisonment and transported to the Hernando County Jail. The defendant was held on a no bond status.
The defendant was given a felony court date of 11142017 at 0900 hours in courtroom D.”
