Dean was pulled over for a broken tail light and the officer discovered that he did not have a valid driver’s license which he was arrested for. The officer also saw that there were miscellaneous items in the back of the vehicle, which a friend stated that were stolen by Whaley and another passenger, Michael Shawn Bissonette from the Walmart located at 13300 Cortez Blvd. Whaley admitted to this and explained he had to take the items because he needed them for his kids for Christmas and couldn’t afford them on account of being down on his luck and is a cocaine addict. There was a total of 23 packages stolen worth a total of $1,128.63

The officer asked her if there were any illegal substances in the vehicle and she replied “yes.” Robinson gave the officer a black container of meth which contained hypodermic syringes.

A backpack was found in the vehicle with syringes and methamphetamine. Beard stated that the backpack belonged to him.

An officer responded to assist a Florida Highway Patrol officer in apprehending Chesson Dennis who was physically resisting the FHP officer and fleeing on foot. The Hernando County Sheriff Officer tracked the subject into nearby woods with the help of a K9. Chesson Dennis was found and apprehended. He sustained dog bite injuries to his leg.

An officer conducting a routine security check of the Croom Rital trailhead noticed a vehicle backed into a parking space. The officer made contact with the driver Bryant Nguyen and smelled marijuana “emitting from the interior of the vehicle.” The officer asked if there were any narcotics in the vehicle and Nguyen handed the officer a jar containing marijuana. The officer searched the vehicle and found a “Buzz Lightyear” baggie containing marijuana on the passenger side door next to where Rebelo sat.

The officer was going to provide a courtesy ride to Mariner Blvd and Cortez Blvd when a consensual check of defendant’s person prior to entering vehicle was conducted for safety. The defendant had a clear cigarette wrapper with a small round blue pill. The pill was found to be Xanax (a controlled substance) for which the defendant did not have a prescription.

After a verbal argument inside the residence the defendant approached the victim while he was sitting in his recliner and slapped him with an opened right hand. The victim was 74 years old at the time of the offense. After the defendant slapped the victim she retreated to the kitchen and retrieved an approximately 10 inch knife. She stated, “I’m going to f***ing kill you”. An independent witness on the scene confirmed the events that took place and sworn statements were completed by both the witness and the victim. The defendant and victim were previously married and still live in the same residence as a family unit.

Officer observed defendant litter and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Upon approaching observed defendant placing items down his pants. Upon search of defendant’s person a small amount of marijuana was found in the back of his underwear. A search of the vehicle located 2 marijuana cigarettes on the floorboard. When informed that he was being transported to jail defendant stated “I don’t want to catch and induction charge” and retrieved a baggie containing marijuana from the front of his underwear. Defendant was on felony probation and was charged with violation of probation.
