Friends of Hernando County Animal Control create the profiles for animals available at Hernando County Animal Services in efforts to speed up their adoptions.


Mimi (10313052) is one of the smaller dogs at the shelter, but she has a big heart. We have never seen aggression from her, even with dogs barking into her face she kept her level headed, sweet demeanor.  Mimi weighs around 35 lbs, about 3 years old and we think she would make a great family dog!  We hate to see her still at the shelter, knowing that she is so deserving of her own person or family. Gilbert (ID#10313205) is a tan Black Mouth Cur. This young dog is easy to get along with. Nice on the leash, co-operative ( he was so good letting us take this photo with the sign hanging around his neck) and friendly. He would like to point out that at about 50 lbs weight he won’t take up much space, and he says he doesn’t eat much… .
