My focus would be to help the people of my hometown. First, I would hold a town meeting to find out what was important to the people. Whether it was building new roads or buildings and stores. I’d show them how to lookout for each other-see a need fill a need, by starting funds for the homeless or the sick-important things like that.
People look up to kings. And even though I would only be one for a day, I’d like to show everyone what one person can do, whether you’re a king or not.
Anyone can help if they know what to look for. Sometimes you can get stuck thinking how you are having a bad day, but I want to tell you that when you see someone in need of help and you assist that person, you will make them happy and that will do two things for you: 1) it is the best feeling in the world to help someone else and 2) you feel twice as good as before. Nothing’s better than knowing you just turned someone’s bad day into a good day. It’s a win-win for everyone! Imagine not just a king seeing someone hungry and feeding them, but a whole community? Imagine not just a king seeing a family struggling and reaching out, but a whole town? Imagine how amazing that would be! Being a king means being a servant to the people, first. It would be easy to think of being a king as being all about how much gold and silver I can have for myself. But to me, there are things more precious than riches.
On a less serious note, something else I’d like to see happen while I am king for a day is the whole community coming together to celebrate the simple life of our town. I’d use some of my royal funds to bring in some entertainment, delicious food, and games for everyone for a festival in honor of our town. This is where the fun comes in! Getting to see friends and family’s having a good time with each other! A parade with big floats, cowboys on horses, and a marching band going by would be my idea of a good time.
Last but not least, I’d want to leave something special behind for everyone to have a reminder of how good our town is and can be. I’d like to have murals painted throughout the town showing the way we live here and why we think it’s great.
