The Hernando Chamber of Commerce put on the second annual Keys to Success from March 21st through the 23rd. The event featured speakers on topics that are important for local businesses. One of the missions for the Chamber is to provide pertinent training for area businesses.
The kickoff keynote speaker was Dr. William Lennox Jr. the president of Saint Leo University. He is the former Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He lectured on superior leadership in an unsettled market at Pasco Hernando State College Spring Hill Campus. He highlighted St. Leo’s innovative use of technology and their strategy for fitting education to the student with the merging of educational centers and online classes. He stated that vision and mission are both critically important in business.
There were five additional lectures before the finale. These talks covered different topics that would be important to local businesses. Most of the seminars were an hour and a half, but a couple of them were only an hour. The Keys to Success included lectures on social media, cybersecurity, credibility, supervision, and customer service.
The finale was held at the monthly chamber breakfast. The keynote speaker was Tina Rossi of Dale Carnegie Training of Tampa Bay. She spoke about Why Generations Clash at Work and there was a generationally diverse panel discussion.
Overtime some hope that the three days of Keys to Success will grow to encompass an entire week. It is wonderful that these opportunities for continued learning are available in our local community.
