How Can You Honor A Veteran?

There are many ways to honor a veteran from writing letters, to even the simplest tasks like buying them a coffee. Veterans are very important, so it is essential that we honor them on a day called Veterans Day.
One way you can honor veterans is by going to a Veterans Day Parade. You can even do things with your family, like watching a patriotic movie or you can donate clothes and food. You can go to a veteran’s family member’s grave and lay flowers on top. People can also raise money for veterans that are homeless and do not have anything. You can also go to the store and get an American flag and a flagpole. Then you could put it up and you could leave it there year round. There are things you can do to celebrate Veterans Day with your family.
You can also honor veterans by writing them a nice letter thanking them for their service. Someone could say how they protected your family and kept them safe. You could also tell them that you appreciate their bravery and courage while fighting for our country. Someone could tell them that veterans are the reason why they are at their house with their family. These are some of the things that you could include in a letter to a veteran.
These are some of the many ways that you can honor veterans on Veterans Day or any day. Veterans Day is one special day which we honor our veterans who served for our country. Veterans are a very special part of our nation. We should honor veterans all we can on their special day.
What Could You Do For A Veteran

There are many ways you can support veterans. Some more effective than others. Most of it is just out of respect.
I think the thing that bothers veterans the most is when people judge them because they are missing a limb or in some way not perfect. You should go up to them, greet them and thank them for their service.
Another two ways you could recognize a fallen veteran or even a still living veteran is to pledge allegiance and respect the flag they risked their lives for. Unfortunately even the simplest of things, like this can not be followed. It is sickening to see people stomping on the flags or worse burning the flags.
Then to see football players kneeling for the national anthem for the stupidest of reasons is disgusting. Also many children look up to these players.
I think the whole nation needs a reminder of who we are and what we stand for. This country is a role model to many other countries and if we keep this up we will lose that reputation. We are the greatest nation in the world we did not get there by throwing fits and disrespecting the flag. We got there by having a brave men and women fight for our freedom.
The reason people are able to do these bad things is because of our brave soldiers who risked their lives to protect our freedom. But they did not intend on this freedom being used against them while they were risking their lives.

HOW CAN I HONOR A VETERAN?

I can honor a veteran by helping them. Some veterans are old and are paralyzed or we need to help them. My grandpa was a veteran but he died. I really miss him.
I would set up a charity. They are important. They fought for our country.
On every Veterans Day we should sing the National Anthem for all our veterans. I really care for all the veterans. They risked sacrificing their lives and they trained really hard for our country. We should take care of them. This is what I think we should do for our veterans.
HOW CAN YOU HONOR A VETERAN?

I would make their favorite meal for breakfast. After they ate their meal I would go where they wanted to go like the mall or an amusement park like Disney World, Sea World or Busch Gardens or maybe a relaxing spa. I would make a delicious meal like sushi or pizza. I would take them to the doctor to make sure they are in good health and when they are with the doctor I would write about how thankful I am for them. When they came out I would give it to them and it would say I am so thankful for you because you fought in the wars, risking your life just for the people of America.
After all the excitement I would take them home to their family.
I hope one day we can call peace with all so people will not have to risk their lives for America. I hope that if this ever happened in real life that it would be one of the best days ever. They would be very happy the rest of their lives.
Veterans

I believe that veterans deserve our respect. They fought for our country. They risked their own lives for us.
I think that they should be commemorated in many ways. We could put up statues of them to represent how they fought and should be remembered for it. Hospitals could be named after them because not all veterans were on the battlefield; some helped injured soldiers. There should be schools named after them because they are role models and can teach others. Festivals can be celebrated in their honor. They should know that the people they fought so hard for appreciate them. Cemeteries should be named after them dedicated to them to represent the fallen soldiers. We can donate, send letters and care packages so that they know there are people at home that care.
We can just do little things to thank them for their service. For instance, we can treat them to dinner and listen to their stories. We can hang flags in our yards. We can do a little as just taking them out for a walk or playing a song that takes them back.
If you see a homeless veteran in need bring the dinner to them. Share a piece of artwork or poetry in honor of them. Maybe just as little as wearing a t-shirt that says something like “I heart veterans!”
Educating our children or grandchildren and make sure they know how important veterans are. There are so many ways we can help vets and be by their side, like they were for us. We can donate money or supplies to local Veteran’s Day drives. Maybe even wear a pin. People can gather loved ones and watch a patriotic movie. We can say silent prayers for those on the battlefield right now. Someone can call a veteran’s family and thank them for their service, read an article of a veteran’s story, thank them and share it. Buy a Buddy Poppy and display it publicly.
The poem, “In Flanders Field the Poppies Grow” is the poem created to honor the veterans; someone can read it to their family or share it online. Veterans need to be recognized for their good deeds; they save lives.
Veterans are the reason we can sleep safely at night, that we get to hug our parents and tell them we love them. For us it is just another day, but for them it is another fight. Celebrate them for what they do, it is the least we can do.
