An attempt to sell a motorcycle on Facebook did not go so well for Victor Rosario of Hillsborough County which ultimately ended in an aerial pursuit into Pasco county for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. He posted the CBR600 motorcycle on the social media site for $2500.
Dayne Ryan Anthony Hall, convicted felon, who had been staying at the Motel 6 on Commercial and Cortez Blvd, responded to the post saying he would be willing to pay the asking price.
The police report notes that soon after Hall responded to Rosario, Rosario noticed that Hall took down his profile photo from his facebook page.
Hall informed Rosario that he would not be able to travel to Hillsborough to look at the motorcycle, so Rosario agreed to bring the bike up to Hernando County. They met in the parking lot of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
Hall was reportedly acting suspicious. Rosario asked to see his driver’s license which Hall could not provide.
Hall then asked to test drive the motorcycle. Rosario did not let him take it for a test drive since he did not have a driver’s license. Instead he drove it around the parking lot to show him that it was in working condition.
Hall requested that Rosario drive him to Bank of America so that he could get money to purchase the motorcycle. Rosario and Hall went to the Bank of America on Spring Hill Drive. Rosario’s wife followed them in her vehicle.
At the bank, Hall claimed that Rosario stole his wallet. He tried dialing 9-1-1 on his cell phone, but said his phone was dead. Rosario offered to call 9-1-1 for him. Hall did not like that idea and threatened Rosario, indicating he had a weapon on him. Hall demanded Rosario give him the keys to the motorcycle. Rosario did so and left the area in fear. He and his wife Madison Rosario called 9-1-1.
Law enforcement observed Hall in the area on multiple occasions. Deputy Vincent Mascitelli, driving an unmarked vehicle, spotted the motorcycle and began following it, as Hall drove throughout Spring Hill.
At that point, The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit was brought in.
Hall headed south into Pasco County. Pasco County deputies were requested to respond to the area. Hall went down a dirt road in the area of 17751 Oxenham Drive.
The HCSO Aviation Unit arrived and observed that Hall had dropped the motorcycle and was running on foot. The Aviation Unit, flown by Chief Pilot Corporal David Calianno and Tactical Flight Officer, Deputy Mike Woodward, directed ground units to Hall’s location. Deputy Cox with K-9 Judge, and Deputy Mascitelli, engaged Hall. Hall became aggressive and produced a 9mm handgun. Deputy Cox released K-9 Judge, who then took Hall to the ground, causing him to drop the firearm.
Hall was taken into custody after receiving three dog bites. Hall also had a pocket knife and a dagger tucked down his pants.
He was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and Felon in Possession of Firearm. A warrant for his arrest in regards to the carjacking case is forthcoming.
