Do you like blue? Do you like berries? Do you like blueberries? Florida blueberry festival in Brooksville. Has this song been stuck in your head? Well, you shouldn’t have it stuck in your head for much longer, because the Florida Blueberry Festival had its 5th annual blueberry festival, last weekend April 16th and 17th.
The festival had tent displays along with larger setups. Many businesses were there showing off their wares. There was live music at the bandstand and on the local stage. There were several locations where you could purchase beer or wine.
There was a thousand foot slip and slide known as the Urban Slip and Slide set up on Jefferson Street that went down the hill next to the courthouse. People slid down it slowly on inner tubes.
There were blueberries, blueberry pie, blueberry jam, blueberry soda, blueberry wine and blueberry plants for sale. They had all things blueberry covered.
Many booths that had jewelry like earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Several locations had pottery plates, teacups and saucers with unique designs on them. There were many food vendors.
The weather mostly cooperated for the event and the attendees were enjoying themselves. Remember it is only eleven months until the blueberry festival song will start appearing on local radio.
