On 07-19-16, Hernando County Vice and Narcotics detectives intercepted a package of MDMA, commonly referred to as ecstasy, which was being shipped to an address in Brooksville.
The package was addressed to Daniel Lucht, at his residence located at 965 Candlelight Boulevard, the Candlelight Apartments.
Upon inspecting the contents of the package, detectives located 201 pink tablets of MDMA shaped like dominos.
A controlled delivery of the package was performed.
Shortly after the package was delivered, Lucht’s roommate, Zachery Brinski, arrived home.
A search warrant of Lucht’s apartment was executed immediately.
As a result of the search warrant, detectives located and recovered the package that was delivered and the MDMA from inside Lucht’s residence. Detectives also seized three computers that were used to order the MDMA, 93 small plastic Ziploc-type baggies, and a marijuana smoking pipe.
Post Miranda, Lucht admitted to purchasing the 200 tablets of MDMA for $500 over the internet. He told detectives that Brinski provided $100 toward the purchase. Lucht told detectives that “they” sold the pills for less than regular street value and that “they” did it to help pay the bills.
Post Miranda, Brinski also admitted to his involvement with the sale and possession of the MDMA.
Both individuals told detectives they do not sell in Hernando, but travel to clubs in Tampa and Orlando to “conduct their business.”
Both individuals were arrested on scene and charged as follows:

• Trafficking in MDMA
• Possession of a Structure for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance
• Possession of Paraphernalia
• Bond – $11,000
Zachery Brinski, 19
• Trafficking in MDMA
• Possession of a Structure for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance
• Possession of Paraphernalia
• Bond – $11,000.
It should be noted that Daniel Lucht is currently enrolled in nursing school at Pasco Hernando State College (PHSC).
